


ABOUT
THE DISTANCE is an original music project founded by Josh Holmes. From 1998 to 2014, Holmes performed hundreds of shows in the Midwest area, sharing the stage with national acts such as The Bodeans, Sister Hazel, O.A.R., Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, Huey Lewis and the News, Brett Michaels, The Marshall Tucker Band, Collective Soul, Chris Shaffer of the Why Store, The Crickets (Buddy Holly's Backing Band), Blue Oyster Cult, The Doobie Brothers, Granian a.k.a. Kill the Alarm, and more. During that time, Holmes released nine original albums - At the End of the Tunnel (1998), Self Titled EP (1999), 364 Days (2000), Live - Taste of Chicago (2002), Table 4 One (2004), 2nd Generation Loss (2006), Stripped Down Volumes 1 and 2 (2008), and Thinking Out Loud (2014). Prior to the release of Thinking Out Loud, Holmes underwent vocal cord surgery which caused complications that severely affected his ability to sing, As a result, Holmes retired unexpectedly from performing in 2015.
